Yurt Holidays

4 wheels to 2 wheels - Mountain Biking
If you fancy trying out a biking holiday, the Lake District is the place to head to for a bikers paradise. Visit our Links page for bike hire info

Many guests hire the yurt as a social space to get together after a hard days mountain biking. Jacket potatoes in the stove and a wood burner to keep you all warm while you enjoy a drink. Bikes can be hired at several establishments in Ambleside if you don’t fancy bringing your own.
4 wheels to no wheels - Walking Retreats
Rydal is the perfect location for a ‘car free’ walking holiday. There is more then a weeks worth of walks from your door with no need to get into your car. In today’s climate with more and more people taking positive steps towards cutting down their emissions, this is becoming very popular. Explore some of the most beautiful hill walks in the country and come back to a wood burning fire and /or an outdoor fire in the brassier to enjoy the views. Leave your car at home and arrive by public transport and we’ll give you a 10%! By train and bus you can be dropped off 400m from the reception at Rydal Hall. Have a break away from driving and see how relaxed you return home. For more info on greener travel go to our links page and have a look at: www.greentravellor.co.uk
Families / Friends and Re-unions
The ‘roundness’ of the Yurt is a fantastic space for a gathering of friends or family. Ever wondered what it would be like to gather your family or closest friends together for a good catch up, time to reflect on the past enjoy each others company and share future plans.

We can’t think of a better place for it than in the Full Circle yurt. It will certainly be a dinner party conversation for years to come. All it takes is somebody to arrange it and the memories are kept forever. There are three yurts that sleep six a piece so you can have a party of up to eighteen staying. If you are interested in larger reunions extra heads can be accommodated on the Rydal Hall camp site or in their Bunk House, Holiday Cottages or in the main house.
Honeymoons
We have had quite a few couples Honeymoon here in our Yurts. They are a beautiful place to relax after the high of the big day and spend those first precious moments of married life. We love to go that extra mile to make the space just as you’d like it. With the views from your door and the waterfalls next door you couldn’t ask for more. Please let me know of any extra requirements: champagne, decorations, newly wed hamper or breakfast delivered to the door! We would be only to pleased to help make it a truly magical memory. Of course there’s always kayaking, climbing and mountain biking if you have any energy left!!

Alternatively you can purchase a gift voucher and present it as a Wedding Gift for the Happy Couple. It’s a wonderfully creative way to avoid that Wedding List!
The Yurt Retreat
Spending some time alone away from all distraction and responsibilities can do us the world of good. Just stop for a while a listen to your own thoughts or let them pass you by. Let your time unfold naturally without deadlines and enjoy the ‘round living’ in a warm safe space.

If you would like to combine your stay with a number of therapies including Massage, Reiki, Aromatherapy, Hypno-Therapy, Personal Yoga Tuition or Meditation etc we can put you in touch with qualified and experienced local practitioners.
Outdoor activity holidays
Our site can offer an excellent range of Adventurous Activities and we can arrange either Instructors or Guides to assist you along the way. Be it Rock Climbing, Recreational Tree Climbing, Abseiling, Gorge walking / Ghyll Scrambling, Canoeing, Kayaking, Caving, 4x4 off road driving, we can arrange it.

Several guests have enjoyed our inspirational ‘Hawk Walks’. Our close friend and Professional Falconer comes on site and gives you personal tuition and demonstrations in the handling of a range of magnificent birds of prey. You then walk around the grounds to experience flying these birds and see them hunt. Feel the air whistle past your ear as he flies them between the arms of your group.
